Western Michigan University
I am currently a dual-major student at Western Michigan University, studying Entrepreneurship and Leadership & Business Strategy while also minoring in Dance and Accounting.
My education reflects both my creative background and my long-term goal of building and leading my own ventures. I have intentionally chosen coursework and programs that challenge me to think strategically while staying innovative.

Leadership and Business Strategy
Through the Leadership & Business Strategy co-major at Western Michigan University, my objective is to move beyond learning business concepts and actively apply them in real-world environments. The program’s emphasis on experiential learning and consulting allows me to develop leadership skills through direct engagement with regional companies. By working alongside executive mentors and industry professionals, I aim to strengthen my strategic thinking, accountability, and professional confidence. LBS challenges me to approach business with a principled, purpose-driven mindset focused on creating long-term stakeholder value.
As Lead Business Analyst, I directed a team of analysts in developing and delivering a strategic market entry recommendation to a private equity-backed outsourced sales company. I facilitated team collaboration, set timelines, delegated responsibilities, and ensured alignment with client expectations throughout the process. Our final recommendation was presented to the client and supported by in-depth research, data-driven insights, and actionable next steps.
Participating in LBS has been one of the most impactful parts of my college experience. I have grown from primarily asking questions to confidently analyzing problems and making strategic recommendations for real businesses. Through consulting projects and mentorship, I have strengthened my ability to communicate insights clearly and support them with data. The program has helped turn classroom knowledge into practical production, giving me a competitive edge and reinforcing my confidence as a developing business leader.

TechNext at WMU
Through participation in TechNext at Western Michigan University, my objective was to gain firsthand exposure to technology ecosystems and innovation hubs while expanding my understanding of entrepreneurship, venture capital, and emerging industries. I aimed to challenge myself outside my comfort zone, refine my career direction, and develop strong analytical and networking skills. TechNext offered an opportunity to explore how technology intersects with business, creativity, and personal growth.

Participating in TechNext significantly broadened my perspective on both the technology industry and my own professional goals. I gained practical insights into startup culture, strategic decision-making, and emerging market trends. The experience strengthened my confidence in professional settings, improved my ability to evaluate business models critically, and helped me build meaningful connections with peers, alumni, and mentors.

As an active participant in Starting Gate, my objective is to further develop my entrepreneurial mindset within a structured accelerator environment. I want to refine business ideas, test concepts, and receive feedback from mentors and peers. The program provides access to workshops, resources, and funding opportunities that support venture development. By fully engaging in the experience, I aim to grow both personally and professionally as a founder.

Participating in Starting Gate has strengthened my ability to think critically about business models and execution strategies. I have gained hands-on experience in developing and presenting venture ideas. Collaborating with mentors and fellow students has improved my confidence in pitching and refining concepts. Overall, the program has provided practical experience that directly supports my long-term goals in entrepreneurship.
Through the Starting Gate Student Business Accelerator Program at Western Michigan University, I was awarded funding to attend a professional dance teacher conference focused on educator development and studio leadership. My goal in pursuing this opportunity was to intentionally strengthen my skills as an instructor and prepare for the long-term success of my future studio. By participating in workshops, industry panels, and conversations with experienced studio owners, I gained practical insight into class structure, curriculum design, leadership, and daily studio operations. As a result, I returned with greater confidence, a stronger professional network, and actionable strategies that continue to shape how I plan, teach, and build toward opening my own studio.
As Starting Gate Coordinator, my objective is to support the program’s outreach and strengthen its brand presence. Through social media strategy and content creation, I work to highlight student ventures, events, and program milestones. This role allows me to apply marketing and branding concepts in a real-world setting.
Through managing and supporting social media efforts, I have developed strong skills in digital communication and brand strategy. I have learned how consistent messaging and storytelling can build engagement and credibility. Supporting the accelerator’s visibility has helped foster a stronger entrepreneurial community on campus. This experience has reinforced my understanding of how marketing plays a critical role in business growth.
